Get Surround Sound For Music On Your iPhone With Audio-3D Player 7.1

Unlike some other genres, audio players available for iOS rarely offer something uniquely new. When it comes to interface and other visual features, there is plenty of diversity, as you can clearly see in our list of best audio player for iOS. If you have access to the Cydia store, however, there are some truly amazing things that can be done to the stock Music app. In the past, we have covered ipEQ - a tweak that adds a complete equalizer to Music. For non-jailbroken users though, there is finally an even better solution available in the App Store. Audio-3D Player 7.1 is an iPhone app that not only offers a basic equalizer, but lets you go all the way 3D audio with support for 7.1 surround sound. You don’t need any extra hardware to get the surround effect, as the app can make it work with a number of ordinary headphones, including the iPhone’s default ones.

On the surface, Audio-3D might appear to be nothing more than just another audio player, but there is a lot more to it than meets the eye. To get started, you have to specify the earphones you intend to use with the app. There are plenty of models listed in Audio-3D already, but if the one you own isn’t there, there is always the option of contacting the developer with your request. This is all the configuration Audio-3D needs and once you have done that, it is time to load a song into the app by hitting the play button. Audio-3D takes you to your local library, from where you can pick any track or playlist for playback.

To invoke the app’s 3D and surround sound aspects, use the second and third buttons available in the options bar respectively. There are several audio modes on offer, including 7.1, spectacle, and 2.0. In all these modes, you can manually tinker with things as well. In spectacle mode, there is even a demo that can help users gauge the whole idea of surround sound using a pair of headphone. The equalizer in Audio-3D is quite simple, and offers only two sections: bass and treble. Just choose the exact level of each entity and hit the ‘OK’ button.
Some of the more ordinary feature available in Audio-3D include shuffle mode, repeat, and a seek bar. The app’s interface is pretty neat as well, making it easy for new users to get the hang of everything. Audio-3D Player 7.1 is temporarily available for free, and comes optimized for iPhone/iPod touch.
